In my little brother’s rocking chair
When my littlest brother was born, my parents bought a comfortable rocking chair to put in the nursery. And may I just say, WOW this chair is amazing! Definitely the best and most comfortable chair in our house (which I guess isn’t really a difficult title for this rocker to own considering the fact that all our couches are falling apart piece by piece)! It can be very difficult to get a turn in this chair because everyone wants to read or do schoolwork on it during the hours when my youngest brother is awake. When I do get a chance to sit here, I come prepared with a book, a blanket, and a stack of back-up books — just in case I don’t get kicked out of the chair before I finish my current read.
On a mattress in a random spot
You mean to tell me that you don’t have a queen-sized mattress slumped against your bathtub?
Sadly, this great piece of reading furniture won’t be enjoyed for long, because really, who wants a a mattress permanently taking up their bathroom? But it’s a strangely comfortable spot to sit and read. Next time you get a new mattress, try putting the old one somewhere random and decide if you want to rethink maybe keeping it as a new addition to your assortment of furniture. I’m thinking maybe the possibilities for this are endless; next to the bathtub, in the bathtub, in the middle of your living room, under your stairs, on your stairs. Maybe you could put it in the center of your kitchen. Then when you feel like giving up completely on making dinner, you can just drop to the mattress on your floor.
Tucked away in a faraway closet
There’s nothing better than hiding from the world with a book or two, a pile of pillows and obviously a blanket. Sometimes there’s no better place to accomplish this than in a closet. Does sitting in a closet, blocking the door with your pillows and blankets, make you feel like you’re hiding from he world? Absolutely! Is it heavenly? 100%! Just go try it out! Remember what happened when Lucy hid in a wardrobe in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? Hiding with in a closet has the potential to be life changing! Just ask Lucy! Plus, it’s great motivation to keep your closet clean if you plan to hide from your responsibilities in there one day. Just don’t barricade yourself inside and then realize your forgot your book. If you forget the book, it’ll just be weird to sit there.
Outside
As winter crawls closer and closer to spring, I get ecstatic about sitting outside to work on school and read. When the weather is nice, the outside world is a fabulous place to enjoy a novel.
An arms reach away from a bookcase
I think I might actually have a phobia of not having enough to read. I’m not kidding. It truly makes me anxious to think about finishing one book and being bookless for who knows how long until I can find the next one. So sitting next to a bookcase is an ideal location to read. Sitting next to a bookcase while you read is like eating candy in a candy shop; it feels like the fun will go on forever and ever.
