A Month Filled With Music

Most of my best ideas find their way into my thoughts while I’m doing one of two things: Taking a shower or listening to music.

Ironically, this idea came to me while I was showering.

I thought to myself, what should I write about in May? Lots of ideas ran through my mind, but none of them resonated with me. They were all good ideas, just not something I want to focus on yet. I was bordering on frustration when a grad idea came to me.

MUSIC!

And that’s when I decided to self-designate May as the month of music.

Music is something I’m very passionate about, and I believe very strongly in the healing powers it possesses. I think music is much like a form of magic, and it can have a strong influence on our entire being.

I’m really looking forward to focusing on music this month. I have many ideas of posts to share, and I’d like to hear your opinions on what you’d like me to write about.

I hope you’re ready to get your headphones, speakers, and dance shoes out, because our music-filled May is going to be extraordinary! I hope we will each find a motivational song to carry with us in this crazy world.

When we put a song in our mind, it finds its way to our heart, and flows in our bloodstream, becoming a part of us. So, let’s be very wise about what we put inside ourselves.

So, go listen to some music and live positively!

  • Dear Jessa,
I enjoy your blogs and admire you for your inquiring and fertile mind. This poor old world needs so many more Jessas because sometimes it feels like the world is tilting so much that it’s in danger of spinning out of orbit. As for music: I agree with you that music has the power to calm, inspire, even excite to either better or worse human emotions. One of my favorites….and I have many…is the Peer Gynt Suites by Edvard Grieg who lived between 1843 and 1907. These songs, for me at least, bring a wide range of emotion and I marvel that anyone could compose such music. The songs “Morning, Anita’s Dance, In the Hall of the Mountain King, Ingrid’s Lament, Arabian Dance and Solveig’s Song” I think would be songs to consider during the month of May. Good luck!
