I love to draw! Along with painting, drawing is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world, besides books. And when I find a book I really love my drawings tend to correlate with the book in one way or another.
While I was reading Float, I kept thinking about all the different things I could draw or paint to go along with the book. Sadly, over the past few weeks I have been really busy and my sketchbooks are not nearly as full of cool Float artwork as I wish they were. My artistic creativity seemed to keep failing me. I do have two drawings to show you. And if I draw any more I will be sure to add them in another post! I’m hoping you will get your artistic gears dusted off so you can make your own float artwork!
If you would like to learn to draw a skunk, like Mr. Stink, check out this video from Art for Kids Hub. I love their YouTube channel because they make drawing fun and easy for kids!
If you are having trouble thinking of something to draw, think about your favorite things from Float and maybe that can give you a start.
- Which character was your favorite? You can draw him or her.
- Draw your favorite scene.
- Draw yourself with a super cool risk factor.
- Draw an alternate cover for the book
- If you enjoy word art or calligraphy, use that talent to make some fantastic Float art too!
Don’t limit yourself to drawing and painting either! You could do your artwork with sidewalk chalk, in the form of a poem, photography, or any other way you can think of! The goal is not to be the best at drawing or painting, but to have fun and create something!
Please send me pictures/photo copies of your artwork! I will put up a galley with all the lovely and creative art projects and drawings you guys send me pictures of! I can’t wait to see them! You can email your artwork to me at jessapillowcaseproject@gmail.com
Happy reading and drawing!
