It always makes me happy to look out the window and see all the little birds sitting at the bird feeders. One of the acts of kindness on the kindness challenge is filling bird feeders. I like showing kindness to our bird friends as well as human friends.
My older brother, Croft, has always loved birds. When I see birds it always makes me think of him. He likes to point out different birds to me and my little siblings, and tell us interesting things about each one of them.
Croft and I realized that our bird feeders didn’t have any seed in them. We thought we would take the chance to complete one of the items on the kindness challenge, and help our little feathered friends.
While we were filling the feeders, Croft told me about what kinds of birds would likely come to our feeders. He pointed out the sounds of some of them and then showed me pictures of what they look like so we can keep an eye out for them.
Croft might look big, tough, and serious, but he’s a big softy! He is one of the kindest people I know, and he’s so sweet to kids and birds. I admire Crofts patience and kindness that he exemplifies all the time.
I hope that you have fun feeding the birds near your home, and will remember to be kind to the little animals in your neighborhood. Keep working at on the kindness challenge, and remember that you can be kind to everyone – even the birds! I hope you are having fun with the kindness challenge and will continue to have fun looking for ways to be kind.
