I absolutely love Christmas time! I love that during the Christmas season we make an extra effort to look outside of ourselves and show Christlike kindness to others. I hope that your Christmas season is wonderful thus far and I hope it will continue to be amazing.

Every year my church does a service calendar during the month of December. The purpose is to light the world with Christlike service. Every day there is an act of service you and your family can do together.

I have loved doing Light the World with my family in years past and I wanted to share it here so you guys can learn more about it and join the cause.

This chance to focus on serving others each day leading up to Christmas is a wonderful opportunity to make Christmas more meaningful to your family and those you serve. When my family focuses on service during this time of year, it makes the season more meaningful and significant.

If you would like to read about Light the World you can check it out here. You can print a calendar with the service ideas for each day. This year you can get reminders through a text or an email. There are lots of ideas for service, all of which will be meaningful to the person you are serving, but they are not complicated or difficult things to do. If one service idea doesn’t work for you or your family, you can adapt them or even think of a new idea that is similar to the previous one.

Even though we are a little way into December already, I would challenge you to start doing your part in lighting the world. I know that everyone has a light that we can share with others. I hope you will take every opportunity you can to lighten the lives of others and make this Christmas more meaningful.
