Autumn is finally here!
I love Autumn, and I may even consider it my favorite season. (Although I seem to say that every time a new season arrives.) There are so many things about this season that I love and look forward to. Today I’m going to list some of the reasons I love this season, and hopefully, we will all be fully immersed in the autumn season by the end of this post.
1. The beautiful colors of Fall.
I love all the colors that Autumn brings. The deep reds, copper, golden browns, and rustic oranges are all the colors of nature preparing itself for the excitement of the seasons and holidays to come.
2. Getting to wear long-sleeved shirts, sweaters, and much-loved boots.
As the air begins to become cooler, you must say goodbye to your shorts and swimsuits. Don’t be too sad about it though; it’s time to greet all those clothes you only get to wear during the cooler seasons. It’s now chilly enough to wear your cozy sweaters without having to also wear arctic snow gear every time you exit your house.
3. Pumpkins!
Pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin everything! There are pumpkins on porches, front walks, in windows, at the grocery stores, and whole patches to go pick your own.
4. Cooler weather.
I don’t know about you, but I am a fan of the cooler weather. I love the day you walk outside and realize it’s cooler than inside your house.
5. Soup season.
Soup, soup, soup! I LOVE soup! (Except for clam chowder which I think is completely nasty.) I love getting to have all my favorite soups again. My absolute favorite is broccoli cheddar.
6. Halloween.
I’m not a huge fan of super-duper spooky Halloween things, but I love all the cute decorations, costumes, traditions, and the thrill that comes with it all.
7. Thanksgiving.
When Halloween is over it’s right on to the next great holiday – Thanksgiving! I am a very big fan of the food that inevitably comes with this holiday, but I love all the other delightful traditions that come too. I think it is so nice to have a time of year where we can focus our lives on being thankful for what we have.
8. Anticipating the Christmas season.
I always feel like there is a sense of growing anticipation for Christmas as we go through Autumn. We begin thinking about Christmas gifts and the Joy of the wonderful holiday. The anticipation for Christmas is just as exciting as the glorious day itself.
9. Breaking out cozy blankets and good books.
Fall always makes me want a good book and a blanket. (Then again, I seem to always be wanting those things – no matter what time of year.)
10. Fuzzy socks.
Seriously, who doesn’t want fuzzy socks? They’re the best, and Autumn is better if you have a pair. If you’re crazy and not a fan of Fall, let me recommend that you go find yourself some fuzzy socks, a good book, a cozy blanket, and possibly a pumpkin.
I hope your Autumn is off to a great start! I would love to hear anything that makes your Fall more wonderful.
